Warid's
Network Facing Serious Problems in Islamabad, Users Frustrated Over
SMS Problems
(Pakistan
Telecom Desk)
Warid
Telecom, one of the leading cellular service providers in Pakistan,
is facing serious network problems as IT Insight is receiving complaints
against the company. Complainants, mostly from Islamabad showing
anger over virtually no SMS sending from their cellphones whereas
the company is charging them for subscribed packages. IT Insight
investigated the matter and found out that many users who have subscribed
to ZOOM SMS package are actually paying subscription charges daily
but are getting no service from the operator in terms of SMS.

"I hate Warid now and am planning to change operator"
says an angry customer from Islamabad who has also lodged a registered
complaint against Warid in PTA - country's telecom regulator. A
company's customer service representative while defending Warid
Telecom insisted, "We are facing congestion problems and are
hopeful that things will be fine within few hours. We are upgrading
our channels and very soon you will be able to send and receive
SMS properly."
"Consumer rights" is a major issue in Pakistan's telecom
sector as the industry is growing with a high pace whereas good
QoS (Quality of Service) is still lacking in some telecom operators.
