The amazing blockbuster hit release
of the trilogy film Lord of the
Rings, inspired from the Novel “Lord
of the Rings” is coming up soon.
The hit movie inspired many gaming
companies and ended up in making
of the game series based on the
movie. The Lord of the Rings, The
Battle for Middle-earth II will
introduce players to depths of the
fiction never explored before by
EA Games and is expected to be released
in early 2006.
With
all new content from J.R.R. Tolkien's
original fiction, the game delves
deeper than even the movie and engages
the player in new battles that go
beyond the award-winning movie trilogy.
Wars like Helms Deep and Minas Tirith
were there in the movie, but the
books also talked about even larger
battles at places like Mirkwood
and Dol Goldur. EA was able to visualize
these wars in the game and hence
made the game interesting. You can
defend or overtake lands that have
been seen by you or not in the trilogy
as you unleash powerful new weapons
and abilities - summon dragons,
cause volcanoes to erupt, or bring
down a cataclysmic lightning strike
and cover over 25 missions for your
gaming experience.
But
beware, every thing that goes up
has to fall down, so the greater
power gains greater adversity. Your
enemies, commanded by a powerful
new AI system, possess a greater
tactical edge and more powerful
spells in this game. Will your armies
be having the fortitude to persevere?
In
addition to the regular single player
game, a multiplayer option is also
available. Standard and team-based
skirmish battles are there like
the other games but EA is also introducing
a new mode called ‘War of the Ring’.
This element of EA multiplayer game
is turn-based similar to the board
game Risk. This feature allows you
to build heroes, armies, and structures,
on any selected gorgeous 3D map
in the race to conquer all of Middle-earth.
Ofcourse there is a restriction
on the number of players as per
the map allows. It allows only 8
teams to play, having 40 different
territories to Battle on! I can’t
wait to have the game CD in my hands.
