When we talk about Information Technology
or IT, we generally mean computers.
However, IT is not just about computers,
it has more meanings to it. Our voice
traveling through phone lines and
the broadcasts on our televisions
have become possible because of Information
Technology. The comfort we see in
our lives through Internet, ATM cards,
cellular phones, SMS, fast data processing,
digital photography and what not,
are all that make us different from
our previous generations. This ease
of living with an automated life is
an outcome of enormous research in
the field of Information Technology
& Telecommunications.
The convergence of IT & Telecom
has proved that the two domains can
never be kept apart as both largely
depend on each other. Just like a
telecom switch requires a software
support, internet uses vast support
of telecom based hardware. Gone are
the days when 'IT' used to be a new
word. We have now an IT ministry in
Pakistan which is dynamic and forward
looking.

we are starting a magazine that

and also internationally. Our ultimate
aim is to develop insight for IT
among general public. You will find

the industry. We will reveal the

you want to know about this growing
sector.
